What to visit? Declared a World Heritage Site twice, thanks to the Teide Natural Park and the historic center of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, there is a lot to see in Tenerife. An ideal destination to explore whether you are traveling with family and children, as a couple or friends.
Start your visit in the Las Cañadas del Teide National Park, recognized by UNESCO. Through a network of cable cars, you can ascend to the Teide volcano, the highest peak in Spain, with 3,715 meters of altitude. On your descent, you can take the opportunity to visit the ancient dragon tree of Icod de los Vinos, which is already about 700 years old. You can reach this spectacular natural park from any of our hotels in Tenerife, Catalonia Punta del Rey, Catalonia Las Vegas and Catalonia Oro Negro.
In the Tenerife North region you can enjoy your holidays and your stay. There is the city of San Cristóbal de la Laguna, with a beautiful historic center. If you have the opportunity, you should also visit La Orotava and Puerto de la Cruz, as well as the natural pools of the port of Garachico. The beaches in this northern area are made of black volcanic sand and are stunning to look at.
The Anaga rural park is an impressive mountain range that ends in the sea forming cliff valleys that is located less than an hour from our Catalonia Punta del Rey and Catalonia Las Vegas hotels.
At night, the best plan is to go out and enjoy the urban charm of the capital, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. One of its main emblems is the Auditorium, the work of architect Santiago Calatrava. Or, if you feel like it, you can stay and see one of the various shows offered by our hotels in Tenerife.
On the other hand, the southern part of the island presents a different landscape, as you can see on the beaches of Médano and Las Américas, with fine, golden sand.
What to eat? Tenerife gastronomy mixes flavors of the land and the sea. Our hotels in Tenerife offer a wide selection of local products on their menu. We recommend trying the Viejas, a locally consumed fish, the rabbit in salmorejo and, above all, the wrinkled potatoes with mojo and island cheeses.
