Bellver Castle has the particularity of being built on a circular plan, one of the few with this structure in Europe. The Royal Palace of Almudaina or Alcázar Real is one of the residences of the Spanish royal family. It is located in front of the cathedral, with views towards the port. When Jaume II of Aragon conquered Mallorca, he built a castle on the citadel at the beginning of the 14th century and converted it into the seat of the government of the Kingdom of Mallorca.
