Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam Hotel
Let the city of canals captivate you completely when you stay at the Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam hotel. It is located just 300 metres from Vondelpark and a 10-minute walk from the Museumplein, where you will find the Van Gogh Museum and the Rijksmuseum. A privileged location making it the perfect choice for any type of trip, whether for business, as a family or in a couple.
Built across seven traditional Dutch-style buildings, the Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam will surprise you with its modern, boutique-inspired interior. Stay in one of our rooms with a cutting-edge décor or one of the 4 apartments. Sample international dishes and Dutch cuisine at the Joost restaurant, relax with a drink at our Gastrobar and load up on energy each morning at our large breakfast buffet before hitting the sights of ever-fascinating Amsterdam.
The Catalonia Vondel Amsterdam hotel is made up of a group of seven typically Dutch art nouveau buildings, built in 1903 by the architect Piet Kramer. The beautiful exposed brick facades reflect its genuine architectural style, as do some emblematic elements, such as the original staircase, which we wanted to preserve to maintain all its personality. Upon entering, you will discover an avant-garde decoration that contrasts with the exterior: dark tones, wood finishes and minimalist touches in a boutique-inspired hotel with its own chic character.
Its particular decorative style extends to the more than 80 hotel rooms, all of them fully equipped for a comfortable stay. Some, such as the Vondel suite or the Amsterdam suite, have extras that you will love, such as a seating area with a sofa or a large bathtub integrated into the room. In addition, we have 4 spacious apartments that have everything you are looking for for a trip with family or friends, including a kitchen with everything you need.
Have breakfast every day as if it were Sunday in our fabulous buffet, where you will find a wide assortment of cold meats and cheeses, fruit salad, hot dishes such as eggs, bacon, potato omelette and a variety of cereals, breads and yogurts. Come and taste international and Dutch dishes in our restaurant Joost, a gastronomic space with a unique avant-garde design and named after one of the most famous poets in the country, Joost van den Vondel. If what you need is to have a coffee throughout the day or relax with a cocktail after a long day of sightseeing, our Gastrobar is a relaxed place where you can take a breather.
We have a bicycle rental service, the most popular way to get around Amsterdam like the real locals. In any case, the hotel is in a central area from which you can walk to the Vondelpark, the green lung of the city, to the Van Gogh Museum, where you can see the works of the most famous Dutch painter, and to the National Museum of Amsterdam (Rijksmuseum), which houses paintings from the Golden Age by artists such as Vermeer, Rembrandt or Hals. During your visit to the Dutch capital, you cannot miss Dam Square, with the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, and the popular canals, especially those of the Leidseplein neighborhood, the liveliest and with a wide range of leisure and nightlife.
